Hi all!

Has anyone else been out to purchase their furniture etc for their property? If so, have you any comments on where you went and any other places to shop? We purchased from Elizantre new the Orphanides supermarket and got quite a good deal but welcome any information on buying more items from other shops. Smiley Smiley

When we were in Cyprus in September we did quite a bit of looking around for furniture.  We ended up at Shiapanis Furnitures Ltd - the shop on the left side of Kapparis roundabout (heading towards Kapparis).  Although we haven't purchased anything yet, it seems they will be able to supply everything we need including curtains and blinds.  We have arranged to meet Andreas (the owner) at the shop on 3rd November to take him to the apartment so he can measure up the windows etc.  It all sounds like it will work like a treat and that we will get a good deal - will feed back!!

In addition to this, we have been advised to go to Paralimini for any electrical goods - aparently the electrical shops are cheaper than the supermarkets for things like water coolers etc.  I think we may take a trip to Ikea for "bits and pieces".

Does anyone know what the normal delivery lead time is on things like sofas ?  We are only out there for 10 days so I am thinking we may have to have some things delivered next time we are there unless we pay for someone to take delivery of things for us...  :Smiley

Hi all

Tina and I purchased from Elizantre and have arranged delivery the next day following the taking of our apartment. All the furniture we bought is being delivered that day scallywag, just tell them the date and they'll deliver - usually  Smiley

Hi all,

Whilst furnishing our apartment we were advised (by Mark and Shirley) to go to Home and Wood which is at the rear of Paralimni stadium for things like fire extinguishers etc.  It is like a smaller version of B & Q and even stocks cutlery, crockery etc.  It has a great range of DIY stuff...

Just an update regarding the furniture we ordered from Shiapanis - they were great!!  Very friendly and reliable with good quality furniture.  We got everything we needed including blinds etc.  We too bought many "bits" from Ikea, and found the larger supermarkets also had a wide choice.

Hi,

We took possession end of last year and we're visiting in early April to buy as much furniture etc as possible for our 2 bed apartment. If we buy from places like Ikea and local stores is it easy to organise delivery? We're only visiting for one week so I'm expecting it to be a mad rush !!

Thanks,

Steve & Christine.

Hi Steve & Christine

If you buy your furniture locally at Elizantre - just up the road - Shiapanis or Living, which are on the Kapparis roundabout they normally deliver next day - if they have in stock. Not sure about IKEA Steve as we didn't buy large items from there, although I'm sure they will deliver.
